Bantul Regency Tourism



Yogyakarta is endowed with many beautiful places and it's worth to visit, one of them is in Bantul Regency . Here I will discuss about some of the tourism places that you must visit when you come to Bantul .

1. Parangtritis Beach



As we know Bantul is directly adjacent to the Indian Ocean so there is some coastal tourist locations with beautiful scenery . But please be careful , because these beaches have great waves . Even several times had casualties. These beaches are also often used as the location of a particular ritual by the Sultan Palace .
Parangtritis is a very popular beach resort in Bantul, Yogyakarta. It's located at Parangtritis Subdistrict, Kretek , Bantul . Parangtritis offers tourist beauty expanse of beautiful white sand beach with a very beautiful scenery . In some locations there is a very beautiful sand dunes . This beach also used as a ritual place specifically welcome the new year of Islam that held by the Sultan Palace .

2. Parangkusumo Beach







Parangkusumo beach is a tourist attraction beach in Bantul, Yogyakarta, which is located near to Parangtritis beach. It also has the beautiful landscape, Parangkusumo is very popular because of the mystical belief from the local people. In Parangkusumo there is a building named Cepuri . Inside the Cepuri there are two stones  named the stone of love which the local believe that long time ago this place was used as a meeting between Panembahan Senopati , King of the Kingdom of Mataram first with Ratu Kidul Ruler of the South Coast . In the meeting it was agreed that the Queen of the South will help to make the kingdom of Mataram respected in the Land of Java . Therefore, many of which make Parangkusumo this as a place to meditate , perform a special ritual to achieve certain goals .

3. Selarong Cave







Selarong Cave is a very historic and of religious tourism in Bantul. Formerly Selarong Goa is often used by Prince Diponegoro , and he used this cave as the headquarters of the guerrilla war against the Dutch. It's located in Kembangputihan village , Pajangan district, Bantul.  Many people who visit Selarong Cave are because they want to remaind the struggle history of Prince Diponegoro against the Dutch colonists . In addition ,recently there is a campground built arround the cave.

4. Cerme Cave





The Cerme Cave Srunggo is located in Selopamioro village , Imogiri , Bantul , Yogyakarta . It has a length about 1.5 km from the entrance located at Imogiri until spring in wilayang roast , Ploso village , Giritirto , Gunung Kidul regency , Yogyakarta . The main attraction of this resort is the beauty of stalagmites and stalactites and it's underground river. To reach the cave visitors must climb the hill through some stairs.

Special Region of Yogyakarta (Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta)




Yogyakarta also known as Student's City is located in Java island. It's located in the south-central part of the island of Java. Yogyakarta is very steeped in culture and tradition. This thing can be seen in the traditional events which are held regularly every year as Sekaten , Gunungan , and Labuhan. To reach Yogyakarta you can visit this region by land or air. If you want to vsit by land I suggest you to use train as your main transportation because the improvement of services that has been done by the Indonesian Railway Company. There are two train stations that you can use to arrive in Yogyakarta . The first is the Tugu station which serves the business and executive class passengers and the second is Lempuyangan stations that serve the economy class. Both stations are located in the city center of Yogyakarta . For air line there is Adisucipto airport which serves flights from major cities in Indonesia such as Jakarta, Surabaya, Makassar, Banjarmasin, Denpasar, Pekanbaru, Palembang, and Pontianak. Yogyakarta is divided into four regencies which are Bantul Regency, Kulon progo Regency, Gunungkidul Regency, and Sleman Regency.
